Victory

Psalm 9 (NASB)

A Psalm of David.

1 I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.

2 I will be glad and exult in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High

3 When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish before You.

4 For You have maintained my just cause; You have sat on the throne judging righteously

5 You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever

6 The enemy has come to an end in perpetual ruins, And You have uprooted the cities; The very memory of them has perished

7 But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment

8 And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity

9 The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble

10 And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.

11 Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in ZionDeclare among the peoples His deeds

12 For He who requires blood remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted

13 Be gracious to me, O LordSee my affliction from those who hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death

14 That I may tell of all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation

15 The nations have sunk down in the pit which they have made; In the net which they hid, their own foot has been caught

16 The Lord has made Himself known; He has executed judgment. In the work of his own hands the wicked is snaredHiggaion Selah

17 The wicked will return to Sheol, Even all the nations who forget God

18 For the needy will not always be forgotten, Nor the hope of the afflicted perish forever

19 Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; Let the nations be judged before You.

20 Put them in fear, O Lord; Let the nations know that they are but men.

Victory is there for you in Jesus Christ.  Believe and be saved.

What is the will of God?

What is God’s will for my life?  How many struggle to find the answer, or even to find a way to know the answer to that question.  You find God’s will for your life in His Word.  His commandments are to believe in Jesus, and to love one another.  We overcome the ways of the world by abiding in Him, through the Holy Spirit.  Please read these excerpts from 1John (NKJV).

Chapter2

15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world.

17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

Chapter3

1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,

16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

Chapter 4

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

13 By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Chapter 5

1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves Him who begot also loves him who is begotten of Him.

2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.*
