Don't Worry About the New Year

Worry will not change 2023.  The future is in God’s hands.  He loved us enough to give His only Son to die in our place for our sins and give us eternal life in the glory of His presence.  Therefore, we can trust that His grace will be enough to sustain us in all circumstances.

Listen to the Word of Our Lord:

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?  Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;  and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:25-34 NKJV) [1]

A Prayer Request for 2023

In a few days, 2022 will be over.  In 2023, please pray often for our leaders and the other leaders around the world.  Ask God to give them the wisdom, courage, and strength they need to solve the problems they will face.

Pray also for the common people, the regular folks.  Ask God to give them food, clothing, shelter, clean water, good health, and the ability to raise their children in peace.  Above all, pray that every person who will do so will accept salvation through faith in Jesus Christ; because the time is short.  Thank you.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,  for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.  This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,  who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,  who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. (1Timothy :1-6 ESV) [1]
