Whadda ya mean I gotta?

“That government is best which governs least.”

Americans have a problem with the word “mandate.”  If you tell an American that they must do something, their knee jerk reaction is, “Wait a minute. Who do you think you are? You can't tell me what to do.”

The fastest way to get Americans to do something, is to tell them not to do it.  Those in government who would have us all get vaccinated and wear masks should tell us not to do so. By saying that vaccinations and masks are “mandatory,” our Democratic friends doing the mandating ensure that we will resist wearing masks and getting vaccinated.

Americans want to choose for themselves.  If we are told what to do, we feel like our individual liberties are being trampled upon.  Whether this is actually the case, or not, is a matter of point of view, but I agree in principle.

Big government fundamentally fails to understand the American people.  That is why so many of us are opposed to a gigantic, unelected bureaucracy.  We resist it because its purpose is to regulate us.  Big government does not trust our judgement.  It does not know how to give us the facts and let us make up our own minds.
