The Left Should Stop Playing Word Games

An article by Alex Kasprak, dated 30 August 2024 and featured on Snopes.com, claims to be a “fact check” to counter accusations on “far right” websites that Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn) signed into law a statute that prohibits Christians, Muslims, and Jews from teaching in public schools.  The article titled, “No , Minnesota Law Approved by Walz Doesn’t Ban Christians, Jews or Muslims from teaching” [1] seems to support the deception that because the law does not specifically name Muslims, Jews, and Christians, it does not keep them from teaching.  The portion of the law Mr. Kasprak quoted reads:

"[Foster] an environment that ensures student identities such as race/ethnicity, national origin, language, sex and gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical/developmental/emotional ability, socioeconomic class, and religious beliefs are historically and socially contextualized, affirmed, and incorporated into a learning environment where students are empowered to learn and contribute as their whole selves."

What the law does is to require some Christians, Muslims, and Jews to set aside their core values and sincerely held religious beliefs in order to get a teaching certificate.  What the article does not mention is that in most cases teachers are also required to be certified to teach in faith-based charter schools, church schools, and schools operated by Jewish and Muslim organizations.

Therefore, the law effectively bars practicing religious persons from teaching in Minnesota unless they agree to betray the teachings of their faith. That is the fact check on Mr. Kasprak’s fact check.  People on the Left should stop playing word games.

Leftwingers believe in freedom of speech only if what is said is something they agree with.  One tactic they use is to threaten a person’s livelihood if they do not comply with the way the Left wants things done.  That is a big thing.  Our employment supports ourselves and our families.  To take away a family’s living hurts their kids.

They did the same thing in Sweden.  The Socialist government there allowed virtually unfettered immigration from failed states in the Middle East.  The jobs of people who objected were threatened, or they lost them.  The result was lawlessness, abuse of the social welfare system, and an erosion of the Swedish language and culture in Sweden’s southern-most cities.

In the past, Lamp in a Corner has warned of increasing persecution of Christians in the United States.  The Minnesota law is an example.  Electing Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in November will result in more of the same, and it will intensify.  Whether you support Donald Trump and J.D. Vance, or not, please vote against Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and other Democratic candidates at the state, local, and federal level.  Regarding the Minnesota law in question and like laws and regulations, advocates like Alex Kasprak think we are too naïve – or too stupid – to see through their smoke screens.  Please don’t prove that they are right.

Jesus said:

“Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.  Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:11 ESV)

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.  If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.  Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.  But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.  If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.  Whoever hates me hates my Father also.  If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.  But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.’

“But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.  And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.” (John 15:18-27 ESV)

“I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.  They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God.  And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me.  But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you.” (John 16:1-4 ESV)

“In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33 ESV) [2]
