The Jack Van Impe ministries’ Intelligence Briefing, (Volume 31, No. 11, November 2025, p.1) reports that a recent survey (State of Theology) by Ligonier ministries found that about half of the 637 evangelicals surveyed believe that God accepts all religions. It would seem that some of our brethren may not be clear about what the Holy Bible says about the way to God.
We must believe in Jesus unto salvation. James tells us that it is not enough just to believe that God exists:
“You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.” (James 2:19 NIV) [1]
Peter declared to the Sanhedrin:
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name (Jesus) under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 NIV) (parenthesis added) [2]
Jesus said:
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip
said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus
said to him, “Have I been with you so long,
and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in
the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak
on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe
me that I am in the Father and the Father is in
me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.”
(John14:1-11 ESV) (emphasis added) [3]
The world calls it bigotry. Believers call it the truth. Jesus said:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order
that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes
in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this
is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the
darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For
everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light,
lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to
the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out
in God.” (John 3:16-21 ESV) (emphasis
added) [4]
